Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that challenges traditional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Disclosed
According to the official statement, "An unusual encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of forbidden practices and terrifying transformations resonate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a hidden group.
The questline concentrates on "bizarre trials and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Changes
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana together with numerous items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also adds the game's third free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime franchises. The series formerly included a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla informally featured a quest that obviously referenced the famous series One-Punch Man.
